The Paideia School first formed a team in the Fall of 1992. The team
acheived Varsity status from the school in 1999. From its humble
beginnings the program has expanded to include at times two JV Boys
teams, a Varsity Girls team, and JV girls team. Currently there is a
Varsity Boys team, one JV Boys team, a Varsity Girls team, and a fall
intramural league which includes over 80 players. Paideia Varsity
Boys won the UPA HS National Championships in 2001 and 2002. Paideia
Ultimate is committed to developing the Georgia Youth Ultimate League
as a competetive and spirited league.
Heritage High School started their team in the fall of 2004. A group of students decided that they no longer wanted to play soccer and were looking for a sport that was more fitting for their personalities. A teacher agreed to sponsor them and the rest is history! Currently in their fourth season, Hertiage has about 15 regular players and hope to have a girls team this year. After winning back to back state championship tournaments, the team is looking to expand their horizons to more out-of-state tournaments this year!
In the spring of 2005, a group of freshmen got together and decided to convert Galloway Ultimate from a lunchtime activity on the front lawn to a team that would compete against other schools. Galloway Ultimate (GUru) is now comprised mostly of seniors who helped begin the program at Galloway and several underclassmen as well. The interest in Ultimate at Galloway has grown each year since 2005. It now includes 17 members of the high school team and 25 member of the 7th and 8th grade team. GUru is hopeful to have a good spring season and send its seniors out on a good note as a thank you for getting the Galloway program up and running with a good foundation.
